DISTURBED Frontman Says He Fell Ill After Medication Overdose

See entire article here. However, I would only take this site's info with a grain of salt not even half the time as it is. Considering the resources and comments of rubbish within. Not saying the article(s) in general are, but much of their claims cause a lot of problems. IMHO of course.

DISTURBED had to cancel two weeks of U.S. dates earlier this fall when singer David Draiman was stricken with was reported to be a “throat infection.” The band just a completed a tour of Europe and Draiman revealed the exact reason behind cancelation — he was given an overdose of allergy medication. The frontman told Metal Hammer magazine, “I’d been having allergy shot therapy, and in the middle of the touring cycle an injection that was supposed to be administered at 0.05 of a particular concentration was injected at 0.5 — 10 times more than I was supposed to get."

I had severe anaphylactic shock. Airwaves constricted, blood pressure plummeting. I was on oxygen for hours and still my blood pressure was way, way low. This was the day before we were supposed to play three shows in a row and the residual inflammation that came from the allergic reaction meant that I couldn’t heal from it in the middle of the touring cycle.

My vocal cords were pretty beaten up: seeing them on a stroboscope was pretty scary. They told me if I sang I’d be risking permanent damage.”

Draiman in 2006 underwent successful surgery to fix a deviated septum which was making breathing difficult and affecting his vocal abilities on stage.

DISTURBED will return to the stage in the U.S. in January with its fifth “Music As A Weapon” tour.

The band will be joined by KORN, SEVENDUST and IN THIS MOMENT. Just one date has been revealed so far, in Rochester, New York on January 19, but a full schedule is expected soon.

DISTURBED is touring behind its fifth album, “Asylum”, and has released a video for its latest single, “The Animal”.

CHICAGO ROCK BAND DISTURBED SERVES CEASE & DESIST LETTER TO CAMPBELL COUNTY ATTORNEY JAMES A. DALEY FOR CO-OPTING TWO BAND MEMBERS’ IMAGES ON POLITICALLY MOTIVATED FLYER

Los Angeles, CA – Yesterday an attorney for David Draiman and Dan Donegan, of Chicago rock band Disturbed, sent a letter to Campbell County Attorney James A. Daley, based in Newport, Kentucky, ordering him to immediately cease and desist distributing all copies of a flyer printed with photographed images of Draiman and Donegan.

The politically motivated flyer, which attacks Steve Franzen, Daley’s opponent for the County Attorney’s office in the November 2nd election, contains text implying that the individuals in the photos are “criminals” who have engaged in “child pornography, unlawful transactions with minors, assaults on police officers, and drug trafficking.” In addition to photos of Draiman and Donegan, the flyer features photos of members of rock bands Avenged Sevenfold and Stone Sour.

Disturbed’s attorney has demanded that Daley immediately stop distributing the flyer and destroy any remaining copies in his possession.

Over the last two days, the band's management office has received dozens of phone calls and e-mails from fans in the area who received the flyer, expressing their outrage.

WLWT News 5 in Cincinnati has reported on the flyer and interviewed Daley’s opponent Steve Franzen, who calls it “despicable.” Read the story and watch the News 5 segment here: http://www.wlwt.com/politics/25544680/detail.html
